Is Bharati going to take party reins from Sharmila soon?

on Dec 20, 2012

As predicted a different story was surfaced in some section of media guessing about YSR Congress party leader Sharmila’s discontinuation of her pada-yatra to undergo keyhole operation for knee joint.

To begin with, besides doctor’s advice for rest, it was reported that their party leaders in Telangana have suggested her not to restart her pada-yatra after recovery, expecting troubles from Telangana protagonists, who may turn very aggressive after December 28th when the all party meeting fails to come-up with any positive sign on separate Telangana state.

A report appears in the print media reveals that there was difference of opinion among her family members over allowing her to continue her pada-yatra after her recovery. It is learnt that her family members don’t wants her to divert the people attention from Jagan Mohan Reddy onto her, which they believe will creates confusion among the party cadre about whom to follow either Jagan Mohan Reddy or Sharmila or Vijayamma.

Although, her family members encouraged her for doing pada-yatra initially, the feed-backs that they are getting from the areas where she has been touring worries them about this new development. Another report is that lack of co-ordination between Vijayamma and Sharmila’s programs and Vijayamma’s not-so-often-visits to her daughter’s pada-yatra gives way to confusion and suspicion to the cadre, people and of course even to their rivals about the probable internal struggle in their family and party about the leadership.

Adding spice to the fish, an interesting story pops-up in the media by latest about YS.Jagan Mohan Reddy’s wife Bharati developing sudden interest of participating in party activities. The reports also mention about her interest in contesting the elections. While the general elections are not in the vicinity and the party president YS.Jagan Mohan Reddy’s chances of releasing from jail is narrowing with each passing day, the timing of the report indicates that either her husband Jagan Mohan Reddy or her mother Vijayamma wants Bharati to take party reins from Sharmila’s hands because she would be appropriate person to represent Jagan Mohan Reddy and his party, rather than his sister Sharmila, wife of brother Anil Kumar.

More over, they said to be believed that having multiple power centers in one party certainly leads to clash between family members as well as gives advantage to their rivals in confusing the party at its crucial periods.

Hence, it was reported that soon Jagan Mohan Reddy’s wife Bharati is going to hold a public meeting presides by YS.Vijayamma minus Sharmila to clear the air.

However, Sharmila who until now strived hard for the party said to be quite upset with her family members’ decision of siding her from the active participation in the party. Hence, probably she may not restart her pada-yatra even after her complete recovery.

According to reports, Vijayamma is also quite upset to see her daughter taking negative of the family decision. On the other hand she is quite disturbed to know the feed back from Vijaya Sai Reddy, who has been shuttling to Enforcement Directorate office in New Delhi for interrogation, where he got tip off that sooner or later they are going to pull Jagan Mohan Reddy close to their office, probably to local jail to enable to interrogate him as and when they feel necessary. In such case, it will be difficult to meet him so often as against now at Chanchalguda jail for taking crucial decisions of the party related. Hence, before his extradition to Delhi, he might prefer his wife gain full control over the party and able to take independent decisions on all crucial matters of the party so as to avoid confusion in the party. However, we have to see how he and his family members will co-op with the challenges laid ahead for their family and party.

May god bless their family and party.
